Role at TSSM:
Roland is a dedicated teacher who has been part of the team at TSSM since 2025.
Roland brings life to any presentation that he takes with his enthusiasm for IT, especially for Data Analytics. Teaching since 1990, in VCE, Roland has developed a range of abilities that ensure students can achieve their best in the VCE.
Prior and during his teaching career, Roland worked as an ICT manager in addition to his teaching load, supporting schools with their IT needs. This experience in real world IT has helped him bring life to his classes as he is able to show students the application of the content that they are learning in VCE.
Roland plays an important role at TSSM, being part of our writing and presenting team, developing exceptional VCE resources that are used by thousands of students and teachers alike.
Teaching Philosophy:
Roland's teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that learning is most powerful when it inspires curiosity, agency, and authentic engagement. Roland sees his role as a guide who creates the conditions for students to explore ideas, build understanding, and take ownership of their learning. Roland designs learning environments that are open-ended, inclusive, and reflective, connecting theory with real-world application. Roland aim's to help students develop resilience, creativity, and a sense of purpose through meaningful inquiry and collaboration.
