Accounting Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Recording and analysing financial data; and Preparing and interpreting accounting reports. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Extension of recording and reporting; and Budgeting and decision-making.

Biology Winter School - Head Start - Unit 2

Students will achieve a clear understanding of all Unit 2 Areas of Study including: How is inheritance explained?; How do inherited adaptations impact on diversity?; and How do humans use science to explore and communicate contemporary bioethical issues?

Biology Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: What is the role of nucleic acids and proteins in maintaining life?; How are biochemical pathways regulated?; How do organisms respond to pathogens?; How are species related over time? and How is scientific inquiry used to investigate cellular processes and/or biological change?

Business Management Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Business foundations; Human resource management; and Operations management. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Reviewing performance – the need for change; and Implementing change.

Chemistry Winter School - Head Start - Unit 2

Students will achieve a clear understanding of all Unit 2 Areas of Study including; How do chemicals interact with water? How are chemicals measured and analysed? and How do quantitative scientific investigations develop our understanding of chemical reactions?

Data Analytics Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Data analytics; and Data analytics: analysis and design. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Data analytics: development and evaluation; and Cyber security: data security

Economics Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: ; An introduction to microeconomics: the market system, resource allocation and government intervention; Domestic macroeconomic goals; and Australia and the international economy. Students will also gain a Head Start of Unit 4 Areas of Study including; Aggregate demand policies and domestic economic stability; and Aggregate supply policies.

English Language Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Informality; and Formality. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Language variation in Australian Society; and Individual and group identities.

English Winter School - Head Start - Unit 2

This is an essay writing workshop that will focus on building and improving essay writing skills in preparation for Unit 2 studies. Students will be encouraged to develop a practical understanding of all Unit 2 Areas of Study including; Reading and comparing texts; and Analysing & presenting argument

English Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

This is an essay writing workshop that will focus on building and improving essay writing skills and students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Reading and responding to texts; and Creating texts & a Head Start on Unit 4 including; Reading and responding to texts; and Analysing argument.

Food Studies Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: The science of food; and Food choices, health and well-being. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Navigating food information; and Environment and ethics.

General Mathematics Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including Data analysis, probability and statistics and Discrete mathematics (including Recursion and financial modelling) and will also be given a thorough Head Start on Unit 4 Areas of Study:Discrete mathematics (including Matrices and Networks and decision mathematics).

Geography Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Land cover change; Land use change. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Population dynamics; and Population issues and challenges.

Health and Human Development Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Understanding health and wellbeing; and Promoting health in Australia. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Global health and human development; and Health and the Sustainable Development Goals.

History: Revolutions Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will be given a thorough exam revision of all Unit 3 and 4 Areas of Study including; Causes of revolution; and Consequences of revolution.

Legal Studies Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: The Victorian criminal justice system; and The Victorian civil justice system. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: The people and the the law-makers; and The people, and reform.

Literature Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Adaptations and transformations; and Creative responses to texts. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Developing Interpretations; and Close analysis.

Mathematical Methods Winter School - Head Start - Unit 2

Students will achieve a clear understanding of all Unit 2 Areas of Study including; Functions, relations and graphs; Algebra, number and structure; Calculus (including diff. and anti-diff.); and Data analysis, probability and statistics.

Mathematical Methods Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Revision of Functions, relations and graphs; Algebra, number and structure; and Calculus (differential). Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including : Calculus (anti-differential & integral); and Data analysis, probability and statistics.

Outdoor and Environmental Studies Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Changing human relationships with outdoor environments; and Relationships with Australian environments in the past decade. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: The importance of healthy outdoor environments; The future of outdoor environments; and Investigating outdoor environments.

Physical Education Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: How are movement skills improved?; and How does the body produce energy? Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: What are the foundations of an effective training program?; and How is training implemented effectively to improve fitness?

Physics Winter School - Head Start - Unit 2

Students will achieve a clear understanding of all Unit 2 Areas of Study including; How is motion understood? and How do physicists investigate questions?

Physics Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: How do physicists explain motion in two dimensions?; How do things move without contact?; and How are fields used in electricity generation? Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: How has understanding about the physical world changed?; and How is scientific inquiry used to investigate fields, motion or light?

Politics Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Global issues, global responses; and Contemporary crises: conflict, stability and change. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Power and the national interest; and Australia in the Indo-Pacific.

Psychology Winter School - Head Start - Unit 2

Students will achieve a clear understanding of all Unit 2 Areas of Study including; How are people influenced to behave in particular ways?; What influences a person’s perception of the world?; and How do scientific investigations develop understanding of influences on perception and behaviour?

Psychology Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: How does the nervous system enable psychological functioning?; and How do people learn and remember? Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: How does sleep affect mental processes and behaviour?; What influences mental wellbeing?; and How is scientific inquiry used to investigate mental processes and psychological functioning?

Software Development Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Software development: Programming; and Software development: analysis and design. Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: Software development: development and evaluation; and Cyber security: secure software development practices.

Specialist Mathematics Winter School - Mid-way Revision and Head Start - Units 3 & 4

Students will gain an extensive Revision and Consolidation of all Unit 3 Areas of Study including: Discrete mathematics (Logic and proof), Functions, relations and graphs (including circular functions); Algebra, number and structure (including complex numbers); Calculus (differential & integral); and Space and measurement (Vectors and Vector and Cartesian equations) Students will also receive a thorough Head Start on all Unit 4 Areas of Study including: ; Algebra, number and structure, Calculus (Differential equations and Kinematics: rectilinear motion: rectilinear motion); Vectors (including Vector calculus); Data analysis, probability and statistics.

This program has been carefully developed as a final exam preparation to help students master all 5 sections within the UCAT; Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning and Situational Judgement Test.
