Russell has been part of TSSM’s HASS team since 2026.
Russell has been teaching since 2005. He is extremely knowledgeable, which gives him the ability to simplify difficult topics helping his students achieve exceptional results throughout their journey.
His experience in teaching has provided him with the chance to quickly develop as a Humanities teacher, leading his students towards impressive scores.
Russell is a motivated teacher who makes use of available resources to enhance and improve his teaching abilities so his students can continue to excel.
At TSSM, Russell also plays an important role in producing high quality resources in Ancient History and Modern History.

His approach centres on clarity, fairness, and accessibility, ensuring every student understands what success looks like and has the scaffolding to achieve it. Russell creates engaging, hands-on, and visually rich activities that build deep understanding through questioning, evidence, and authentic application. He value low-prep, high-impact resources that support both students and colleagues, and he uses technology purposefully to enhance learning, not complicate it. Above all, his teaching is grounded in empathy, accuracy, and a commitment to helping students become thoughtful, capable learners.
