Role at TSSM:

Rebecca has been part of TSSM’s English and HSIE team since 2025. She is an extremely passionate teacher who enjoys seeing her students achieve their learning outcomes while scoring impressive study scores.

Rebecca has taught senior English and History since 2006, giving her extensive experience in these subjects. Rebecca’s role as a mentor has given her specific fundamentals that she utilises to engage the students with the concepts of the subject in a simplified form, being able to aid with their understanding come exam time.

Rebecca is a motivated teacher who makes use of available resources to enhance and improve her teaching abilities so her students can continue to excel.

Rebecca has a unique background as she has experience as a reviewer and writer for Aurealis Magazine due to her commitment to fostering Australian speculative fiction by offering thoughtful, informed analysis to a wide readership.

Rebecca also plays an important role in producing high quality HSC resources used by many teachers and students in English and HSIE subjects for TSSM.


Teaching Philosophy:

Rebecca's teaching philosophy centres on guiding students towards independence by gradually shifting responsibility from teacher to learner. She believes in modelling tasks, providing support, and then stepping back to let students take the lead, fostering confidence and autonomy over time.
