Role at TSSM:

Since starting with TSSM in 2021, Rashad has been an integral member of the Commerce team.

Rashad's passion and interest for Global Politics began in 1998, when he first entered university. Since that time he has attained a Bachelor of Arts with a major in International Relations, a Master of International Relations and a Ph.D., in International Relations. Whilst studying a Master of International Relations at Monash University he received a Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Results. Currently, his Ph.D., thesis is being reviewed as a potential book to be published by Routledge Studies in US Foreign Policy.

Since 2020 Rashad has been a contributor to Independent Australia writing short-form essays on Global Politics and the media. Rashad's Global Politics articles cover many of the issues currently studied in VCE Global Politics, most notably in relation to the rise of China, the South China Sea, US politics and the War on Terror. Therefore, unlike other VCE Global Politics teachers, his breadth of knowledge of international relations allows him to comfortably discuss the many different branches that VCE Global Politics addresses in the study design.

Rashad is also a VCE teacher of Business Management and History: Revolutions (China, America and Russia), which he thoroughly enjoys teaching in addition to Global Politics.

Rashad is also a very effective writer who loves to prepare VCE resources that are used by thousands of students and teachers alike.

Teaching Philosophy:

Rashad Seedeen believes that all students have the capacity to achieve success in their education. Such success is accomplished through a dedication to ongoing improvement, reflection in their learning and taking on feedback to be better.

Rashad has a passionate interest in global politics and comic books. His reading interests include the rise of China, the hegemonic decline of the United States, global political economy, the rise of far right movements, social democracy and Gramscian theory. His comic book interests vary from the X-Men to horror to indy political comics.
