Why Choose TSSM?We are focused on providing students with the most innovative educational programs to assist students to create VCE success. In the process of selecting an educational institution, parents and students should be aware of our exclusive features when making their decision.
Our Students Get Extraordinary Results!
At TSSM, we don't just get results but we are proud to show them. Take a look at how our 2007 surveyed students performed:
- 31.25% scored an ENTER of above 90.
- 12.5% scored an ENTER of above 95.
- 5.77% scored an ENTER of above 99.
- 54.69% scored a study score of above 40 for at least one subject.
- 1.56% scored a perfect study score of 50 for at least one subject.
Students that attend our programs are extremely focused and committed to learning. Therefore, with the right guidance and a successful learning system, we regularly achieve excellent results.
Our Students Get Into The Best Tertiary Institutions!
Our programs provide students with the most comprehensive examination preparation. The majority of our past students were accepted into courses at some of the best tertiary institutions in Victoria including:
We provide students with the best opportunity to get their first course preference at the tertiary institution of their choice!
Our Students Get One-to-One Interaction With Our Teachers!
Our programs have the smallest class sizes ever. TSSM has developed a brilliant reputation for maintaining small class sizes, even for lecture style programs. Even our 4.5 hour final examination revision program (our largest) is limited to 80 students. Students are less likely to get specific questions answered in a large auditorium environment. Here is a summary of our limitted class sizes:
- 11, 12 and 15 week intensive target classes
- 8 to 12 students per class.
- Easter Holiday and September Holiday examination revision programs
- Limited to 40 students per class.
- Summer School and Winter School head start programs
- Limited to 40 students per class.
- 4.5 hour and 3.5 hour (regional) final examination revision program
- Limited to 80 students per lecture.
TSSM's first and foremost objective is to address the specific concerns of each student, and for this reason our programs are held in small class rooms. Our teachers are instructed to provide students with regular one-to-one interaction.
Our Presenters Are The Very Best VCE Teachers!
At TSSM, we are more "picky" than any other organisation in selecting the best VCE teachers in Victoria. We make every endeavour to ensure that each student who attends our programs will always have the most competent teacher available in that subject. Our strict four stage selection process is described below:
- Stage 1 - Do they seem confident and competent?
Isolating the fluent and competent teachers. This is done by way of a thorough telephone interview. By asking specific questions, our selectors can immediately isolate teachers that possess good communication skills and are experienced at teaching VCE. The teachers that seem both confident and competent are then invited to stage two.
- Stage 2 - Are they excellent communicators?
A communication skills test is conducted by a two person panel. Each prospective teacher must conduct a 15 minute presentation on their subject specialty to our panel. During the presentation, the selectors pose as students, asking numerous questions in relation to the subject matter. The panel then grade the prospective teacher on four specific criteria. If the prospective teacher scores an average of 80% or higher they are invited to stage three.
- Stage 3 - Are they competent in their subject?
A subject knowledge test is administered to each candidate. Each candidate must sit a 20 minute, subject specific examination. This examination is designed to test the speed and ability of each candidate in their specific subject area. Each candidate must achieve a minimum score of 98% in order to progress to stage four.
- Stage 4 - Are they helpful and sensitive to students' needs?
A recent personal police check is obtained from each candidate - but also ... This is the final stage of the selection process. Along with a recent personal police check, we spend 45 minutes getting to know the teacher. This may not seem important, however, we need to make sure that each teacher that represents TSSM is confident, competent, helpful, committed to education and most importantly, is sensitive to our students' needs.
Once the final stage is successfully completed, the teacher is welcomed as part of TSSM's growing team.
Our Teachers' Performance Is Continuously Monitored!
Once a teacher joins our team, they are continuously subjected to student feedback through a controlled rating system. After each program they teach, students are asked to fill in a student evaluation form. The results obtained from this evaluation are then statistically assessed and each teacher is expected to score above a minimum threshold.
This ensures that students are continuously receiving the best teachers in each subject.
Our Students Receive A+ Standard Comprehensive Notes!
Our students receive the most comprehensive study notes specifically prepared for each program. These notes are written by our experienced team of teachers, most (94.28%) of whom are Published Authors, VCE Assessors, State Reviewers, Vice Principals and/or VCE Coordinators.
This comprehensive study material is prepared in such a way that it can be easily followed by students. The structure of our notes is detailed below:
- Detailed Theory - on all areas of study, as prescribed by the study design for each subject.
- Detailed Examples - are part of each topic, in every section of each chapter.
- Examination Focused Study Notes - ensuring that valuable study time is not wasted.
- No Gaps, Spaces or Empty Boxes - Unlike other educational providers, TSSM provides students with complete study notes. Our view is that expert teachers are employed to spend time enhancing and sharpening a students ability in the subject in order to improve their ENTER scores, rather than to waste valuable time dictating information.
- No cutting, pasting or photocopied and stapled notes - Our notes are always neatly typed with clear, original diagrams and graphs. We do not recycle material from other organisations. Instead, we invest effort, time and money to give students the most professional study notes available.
Our students receive their lecture notes professionally bound with a durable plastic front and back cover. This ensures that they can refer to the material throughout the semester or year. TSSM does not staple notes as this appears unprofessional, however it is also less durable for students to use on an ongoing basis as the material is much more likely to "fall apart".
Our students receive their Intensive Target Classes notes collated together in an extremely durable and a highly presentable plastic binder. This ensures that students attend every week without ever losing any of their material from previous weeks.
Our Students Receive Examination Style Questions!
Unlike other organisations, TSSM only provides students with detailed examination style questions specifically written for each program. Students have access to "study questions" in all their textbooks, so why give them more study questions?
In order to perform well in examinations, students need to be familiar with examination style questions. The more examination practice a student has, the more likely their results will improve.
Examination papers are written very differently to the regular study excercises found in textbooks. So, by learning principles and then continuously applying them to examination style questions, a student can reach their peak potential. For this reason, TSSM insists on providing students with creative and more detailed examination style questions.
Our Students Love Our Friendly Learning Environment!
TSSM takes a less formal approach in the classroom. Of course our teachers are extremely professional in addressing the entire syllabus, however they have a knack for making students feel more comfortable in a friendly study environment.
TSSM feels that students are more inclined to ask questions in a friendly study environment where they are encouraged to learn and develop their skills. Our teachers are instructed to provide students with as much opportunity to develop and enhance examination related skills. |
