Global Politics Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) - Units 3 and 4*

Our Global Politics Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are written by experienced VCE teachers, who are also VCE Exam Assessors. These tasks are available exclusively to schools and are available in electronic or hardcopy format. A variety of tasks are available for both Unit 3 and Unit 4.

Students are not permitted to order these tasks.

The Global Politics Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are offered to schools copyright free for the restricted use of students of that school only.

TSSM's Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are designed to target the key areas of the Study Design for Global Politics. These tasks are a valuable resource with which to assess the coursework components of Units 3 and 4 Global Politics. All tasks are supplied with full solutions.

Targeted Evaluation Tasks for Global Politics have been prepared for both Units 3 and 4. The following packages are available to schools:

Unit 3 Package includes 8 tasks -

Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 (Four options included):

  1. Short answer questions on Libya and Syria for issues and crisis requiring multilateral resolution, EU for Regional grouping, Russia/Crimea for contested and changing borders
  2. Structured questions on intergovernmental Organisations - UN, IMF, ICC
  3. Multimedia presentation on a selected TNC E.g. Shell or non-state actor Amnesty
  4. Case study on global actors - states, IGGs, non-state actors and TNCs


Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 (Four options included):

  1. Essay on elements of Australia's national interest eg immigration and refugee policy
  2. Report on a state in the Asia-Pacific E.g. Australia
  3. Short answer questions on instruments of power and foreign policy instruments
  4. Higher order questions on Australia's national interest in relation to environmental security


Unit 4 Package includes 8 tasks -

Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 (Four options included):

  1. Extended response on an ethical debate relating to human rights
  2. Report on an international law or treaty eg human rights - The Convention on the Elimination of all forms of discrimination against women
  3. Structured questions on global actor responses to an ethical issue eg Human Rights
  4. Essay on an ethical debate eg Human Rights - Economic Challenges to human rights


Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 (Four options included):

  1. Case study on armed conflict
  2. Test on intra-state and armed conflict
  3. Multimedia presentation on the difficulties in achieving effective resolutions for terrorism
  4. Short answer questions on two crises - state and non-state terrorism, armed conflict

These tasks provide teachers with a degree of flexiblity when setting assessment tasks for their students. While TSSM thoroughly checks the accuracy and relevance of these Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET), prior to assessing students, it is the individual school's responsibility to ensure that these are an appropriate form of assessment.

*Unit 3 Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) will be released on February 7, 2024 and Unit 4 will be released on May 22, 2024. Orders made in advance are welcome.
