Our Specialist Mathematics Targeted Evaluation Tasks are the combined work of three experienced teachers who are VCE Assessors. These tasks are available exclusively to schools and are available in electronic or hardcopy format.  A variety of tasks are available for Units 3 and 4.

Students are not permitted to order these tasks.

The Specialist Mathematics Targeted Evaluation Tasks are offered to schools copyright free for the restricted use of students of that school only.

TSSM's Targeted Evaluation Tasks are designed to target key areas of the Specialist Maths Curriculum, providing schools with an invaluable resource for assessing the coursework component outlined in the VCAA Study Design for Specialist Mathematics.  All tasks are supplied with full solutions.

Targeted Evaluation Tasks for Specialist Mathematics have been prepared for both Unit 3 and 4.  The following packages are available to schools:

Unit 3 Package includes 4 tasks -

Four Analysis Tasks (Outcomes 1, 2 and 3):

1. Assignment on Vectors and Complex Numbers

2. Item response on Complex Numbers

3. Short and focused investigation on functions, Relations and Graphs including Circular Functions

4. Application questions requiring extended responses on Differentiation, Integration and Differential Equations

Unit 4 Package includes 4 tasks - 

Three Tests (Multiple Choice, short answer and extended response - Outcomes 1 and 3):

1. On Vector Calculus

2. On Kinematics

3. On Mechanics 

& One Application Task (Outcomes 1, 2 and 3):

1. On Differentiation, Integration and Differential Equations.

These packages are provided to schools giving teachers a degree of flexibility in the assessment tasks they set for their students.  While TSSM thoroughly checks the accuracy and relevance of these Targeted Evaluation Tasks, prior to assessing students, it is the individual school's responsibility to ensure that these are an appropriate form of assessment.
