Our Physical Education Targeted Evaluation Tasks are the collaborated effort of two experienced VCE teachers, one of whom is an Exam Assessor. These tasks are available exclusively to schools and are available in electronic or hardcopy format.

Students are not permitted to order these tasks.

The Physical Education Targeted Evaluation Tasks are offered to schools copyright free for the restricted use of students of that school only.

TSSM's Targeted Evaluation Tasks are designed to target the key components of the Physical Education Study Design.  These tasks are an invaluable resource for schools to assess students on the coursework requirements for Unit 3 and 4 Physical Education.  All tasks are supplied with full solutions and response guides.

Targeted Evaluation Tasks for Physical Education have been prepared for both Units 3 and 4.  The following packages are available to schools:

Unit 3 Package includes 6 tasks -  

Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 (Three options included):

1. Written response focusing on analysis of individual and community patterns of participation

2. Written report focusing on strategies to promote participation in physical activity

3. Case Study analysis focusing on strategies to promote participation in physical activity

& Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 (Three options included):

1.Lab report analysing the relative energy contribution of energy systems when undertaking aerobic and anaerobic physical activity

2. Test (short answer) focusing on energy systems, muscular fatigue and recovery

3. Data analysis exercise focusing on energy systems, muscular fatigue and recovery

Unit 4 Package includes 5 tasks - 

Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 (Two options included):

1.Lab report on activity analysis and justification of fitness tests as part of planning for a training program

2. Written report focusing on the application and evaluation of training methods and the principles of training to a specific physical activity or sport 

& Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 (Three options included) 

1. Written report focusing on the chronic adaptations to training

2. Case study which identifies and analyses various strategies used to enhance sporting performance

3. Test (short answer) which identifies and analyses various strategies used to enhance sporting performance

These tasks provide teachers with a degree of flexiblity when setting assessment tasks for their students.  While TSSM thoroughly checks the accuracy and relevance of these Targeted Evaluation Tasks, prior to assessing students, it is the individual school's responsibility to ensure that these are an appropriate form of assessment.
