Our Mathematical Methods (CAS) Targeted Evaluation Tasks are the combined work of two experienced VCE teachers who are Exam Assessors. These tasks are available exclusively to schools and are available in electronic or hardcopy format. A variety of tasks are available for both Unit 3 and Unit 4.
Students are not permitted to order these tasks.
The Mathematical Methods (CAS) Targeted Evaluation Tasks are offered to schools copyright free for the restricted use of students of that school only.
TSSM's Targeted Evaluation Tasks are designed to address all of the key areas of the Mathematical Methods (CAS) Study Design, providing schools with an invaluable resource for assessing the coursework component outlined specifically by the VCAA for Mathematical Methods (CAS). All tasks are supplied with full solutions.
Targeted Evaluation Tasks for Mathematical Methods (CAS) have been prepared for both Unit 3 and 4. The following packages are available to schools:
Unit 3 Package includes 3 tasks -
Two Tests (multiple choice, short answer and extended response - Outcomes 1 and 3):
1. On Functions
2. On Differentiation
& One Application Task (Outcomes 1, 2 and 3):
1. On Functions and Calculus.
Unit 4 Package includes 4 tasks -
Four Analysis Tasks (Outcomes 1, 2 and 3):
1. Assignment on Logarithms and Exponents
2. Short and focused investigation on Trigonometry
3. Application questions requiring extended responses across the syllabus with emphasis on Integration
4. Item response on Probability.
While TSSM thoroughly checks the accuracy and relevance of these Targeted Evaluation Tasks, prior to assessing students, it is the individual school's responsibility to ensure that these are an appropriate form of assessment.
