Chemistry Targeted Evaluation Tasks are the collaborated efforts of three experienced VCE teachers some of whom are Exam Assessors. These tasks are available exclusively to schools and are available in electronic or hardcopy format. A variety of tasks are available for Units 1 and 2.
Students are not permitted to order these tasks.
The Chemistry Targeted Evaluation Tasks are offered to schools copyright free for the restricted use of students of that school only.
TSSM's Targeted Evaluation Tasks are prepared for schools to address the key areas of the Chemistry Study Design. Schools are provided with a valuable resource for assessing the coursework component specified within the new VCAA Study Design for Chemistry. All tasks are supplied with full solutions.
Targeted Evaluation Tasks for Chemistry have been prepared for both Unit 1 and 2. The following packages are available to schools:
Unit 1 Package includes 9 tasks -
Outcome 1 for Areas of Study 1 (Four options included):
1. A summary report including annotations of three practical activities
2. A response to stimulus material in written format
3. An analysis of first or second-hand data using structured questions
4. A written presentation of new material or new use of existing material
& Outcome 2 for Areas of Study 2 (Five options included):
1. An extended experimental investigation
2. A summary report including annotations of three practical activities
3. A response to stimulus material in written format
4. An analysis of first or second-hand data using structured questions
5. A written presentation of new material or new use of existing material
Unit 2 Package includes 10 tasks -

These packages are provided to schools giving teachers a degree of flexibility in the assessment tasks they set for their students. While TSSM thoroughly checks the accuracy and relevance of these Targeted Evaluation Tasks, prior to assessing students, it is the individual school's responsibility to ensure that these are an appropriate form of assessment.
